Getting Started
How Cadence works
The six-stage lifecycle Cadence runs for every customer — from learning order history to attributing revenue.
Cadence operates as a continuous loop for every customer in your store. Understanding this loop helps you configure integrations, build marketing flows, and interpret your analytics.
The six stages
1. Learn
When you install Cadence, it imports your historical Shopify orders, products, and customers. From this data, Cadence builds a per-customer buying rhythm — how often each person reorders each product, based on their actual purchase history.
This is not a store-wide average. Two customers who buy the same moisturizer may reorder on completely different schedules.
2. Predict
Once Cadence understands each customer’s rhythm, it forecasts their next revenue moment. For each customer, Cadence may identify one or more active predictions:
- Due to replenish a previously purchased product
- About to lapse (hasn’t reordered within their expected window)
- Primed for cross-sell (ready for a complementary product)
- Primed for subscription (repeat buyer ready to subscribe)
Predictions are recalculated daily as new orders come in.
3. Trigger
When a prediction becomes active, Cadence sends a structured event to your connected marketing platform(s). The event includes:
- The prediction type
- The relevant product(s)
- A pre-built ConvertCart link
- Customer profile context
Your marketing platform receives this event and uses it to trigger the flows and automations you’ve configured.
4. Deliver
Your marketing platform sends the actual message — email, SMS, or both — using the content and design you’ve set up in your flows. Cadence provides the timing and context; you control the creative.
Cadence can also reach customers through:
- Nudges — on-site widgets shown to logged-in shoppers with active predictions
- LiveBlock — a personalized block you drop into any email campaign or newsletter
5. Convert
Every link in your Cadence-powered messages points to ConvertCart — a branded, login-free cart page on your store’s domain. The customer sees their pre-filled cart, can adjust quantities, apply any configured discount, and checks out through standard Shopify checkout.
No account login required. No friction between the message and the purchase.
6. Revenue
When a customer completes a purchase through ConvertCart, Cadence attributes that revenue back to the prediction that drove it. You see this in your Dashboard and prediction analytics.

What happens daily
Each day, Cadence runs a cycle that:
- Syncs new orders and customer data from Shopify
- Recalculates predictions for all customers
- Delivers new events to your marketing platform at your configured event delivery time
- Syncs updated profile properties to your marketing platform
You don’t need to trigger any of this manually. Once your store is enabled, the cycle runs automatically.
