Features
Settings
Configure event delivery time, pinned products, and product exclusions in the Cadence app.
Settings in the Cadence app control store-wide preferences that affect prediction delivery and product behavior. Access them at Settings in the app sidebar.
Event delivery time
Control when Cadence sends daily prediction events to your marketing platform(s).
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Delivery hour | Hour (0–23) in your store’s timezone when events are sent |
To change:
- Go to Settings
- Find the Event delivery time section
- Select your preferred hour
- Save
Events deliver once daily at this hour. All active predictions for all customers are sent in a single batch.
Tips:
- Choose a time when your customers are likely to engage with email or SMS
- Consider your marketing platform’s flow behavior — some send immediately on event receipt
- Allow 24 hours after changing delivery time to see the effect
See Daily cycle and event delivery for more context.
Pinned products
Pin products to prioritize them in ConvertCart cross-sell recommendations. Pinned products appear first when Cadence suggests complementary items on cart pages.
To pin a product:
- Go to Settings → Pinned products
- Search for the product you want to pin
- Click to add it to the pinned list
- Drag to reorder — top pins have highest priority
To unpin: Remove the product from the pinned list.
When to use pinning:
- You want to promote a specific new product in cross-sell recommendations
- A particular product pairing converts well and you want to ensure it’s suggested
- You’re running a campaign around a specific product and want it prioritized
Pinning affects cross-sell recommendations only. It does not affect replenishment or lapse predictions (those are based on the customer’s purchase history).
Product exclusions
Exclude products from triggering Cadence predictions. Excluded products won’t appear in replenishment, lapse, cross-sell, or subscription predictions.
Tag-based exclusions
Create rules that exclude products by Shopify tag:
- Go to Settings → Product exclusions
- Click Add tag rule
- Enter the Shopify product tag (e.g.,
sample,gift-card,exclude-cadence) - Select the scope:
- All predictions — exclude from every prediction type
- Replenishment only — exclude from replenishment and lapse predictions
- Cross-sell only — exclude from cross-sell recommendations
Any product in your Shopify catalog with the matching tag is automatically excluded. New products tagged in Shopify are excluded on the next daily cycle.
Manual exclusions
Exclude or include individual products regardless of tags:
- Go to Settings → Product exclusions
- Search for the product
- Click Exclude to remove it from predictions, or Include to override a tag-based exclusion
Manual exclusions take precedence over tag rules.
Common exclusions
| Product type | Why exclude |
|---|---|
| Gift cards | Not a replenishable product |
| Sample sizes | Customers buy once to try, not to reorder the sample |
| Limited editions | Won’t be available for reorder |
| Bundle products | Individual components may be more appropriate for replenishment |
| Free gifts / GWP items | Not purchased by the customer |
Best practice: Review your product catalog during onboarding and exclude non-replenishable items before going live. This prevents irrelevant “time to reorder” messages.
