LiveBlock
What LiveBlock is, how to request setup, and how to use it in your email campaigns and newsletters.
LiveBlock is a personalized content block that Cadence creates for your email campaigns and newsletters. For each recipient, it shows their highest-priority active prediction — or hides itself if no prediction applies.
What LiveBlock does
Instead of sending separate lifecycle emails for every prediction, LiveBlock lets you embed a single adaptive block into any email — weekly newsletters, promotional campaigns, seasonal sends — that automatically personalizes per recipient.
Example: You send a monthly newsletter to 10,000 subscribers. LiveBlock checks each recipient:
- Sarah is due to reorder vitamins → shows a replenishment block with her product and a ConvertCart link
- Mike is at risk of lapsing → shows a win-back block
- Emma has no active prediction → the block is hidden; she sees the rest of your newsletter normally
One email, personalized for every recipient.
Prediction priority in LiveBlock
When a recipient has multiple active predictions, LiveBlock shows the highest-priority one:
- Subscription upsell
- Replenishment
- Lapse prevention
- Cross-sell
How LiveBlock is set up
LiveBlock is managed by the Cadence team, not self-service. Here’s the process:
1. Request setup
Contact the Cadence team (via your enablement call or support) and let them know you’d like LiveBlock configured. Provide:
- A sample email template or newsletter where you want the block to appear
- Your brand colors, fonts, and any design preferences
- Which marketing platform you use (Klaviyo or Omnisend)
2. Cadence builds and deploys
The Cadence team:
- Designs the LiveBlock HTML matching your brand
- Deploys it to your marketing platform:
- Klaviyo: uploaded as Universal Content named “Cadence LiveBlock”
- Omnisend: generates an HTML snippet for you to paste
3. You add it to your emails
Once deployed, add LiveBlock to any email template:
Klaviyo:
- Open your email template in the Klaviyo editor
- Drag “Cadence LiveBlock” from Universal Content into your email
- Save and send
Omnisend:
- Open your email template in the Omnisend editor
- Add an HTML block
- Paste the LiveBlock HTML snippet provided by Cadence
- Save and send
4. LiveBlock goes live
LiveBlock content updates automatically as customer predictions change. You don’t need to update the block — it pulls the current prediction for each recipient at send time.
LiveBlock status
You can check LiveBlock status in the Cadence app. Status values:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | LiveBlock is being configured by the Cadence team |
| Deployed | LiveBlock is live in your marketing platform |
| Disabled | LiveBlock has been removed from your marketing platform |
When disabled, the block is removed from Klaviyo Universal Content and the Omnisend snippet is hidden.
Where to use LiveBlock
LiveBlock works best in:
- Weekly or monthly newsletters — adds a personalized lifecycle touch to regular sends
- Promotional campaigns — combines your offer with a relevant product recommendation
- Seasonal emails — holiday or event emails with per-recipient product suggestions
- Any recurring email — where you want lifecycle personalization without building separate flows
LiveBlock complements (doesn’t replace) your dedicated prediction flows. Use flows for targeted lifecycle messages and LiveBlock for personalization in broader campaigns.
Platform support
| Platform | LiveBlock method |
|---|---|
| Klaviyo | Universal Content (automatic deploy by Cadence team) |
| Omnisend | HTML snippet (paste into email templates) |
| Attentive | Not supported (SMS-only platform) |
| Postscript | Not supported (SMS-only platform) |
Best practices
- Place LiveBlock above the fold — put it near the top of your email where it’s most visible
- Keep surrounding content generic — let LiveBlock handle personalization; don’t duplicate product mentions in the rest of the email
- Test with a small segment first — send to a test list before including in a full campaign send
- Combine with dedicated flows — LiveBlock enhances newsletters; dedicated flows handle time-sensitive predictions
Where to go next
- Klaviyo integration — Klaviyo-specific LiveBlock setup
- Omnisend integration — Omnisend HTML snippet setup
- Events and flows — dedicated prediction flows
